Andrew Tate complains about the conditions in his cell in Romania in what appears to be an email from the kickboxer turned controversial figure.
“They are trying to break me,” Tate said in a mail to his clients. “Throw into a cell without light. Cockroaches, lice and bed bugs are my only companions at night. When the guards bring me in and out of court, I respect them completely. They try to pour hatred into my heart.”
Tate then vows never to “break” and says that his submissiveness to the guards is his form of rebellion.
The email has been screenshotted and posted multiple times on Twitter, according to interior. The newspaper contacted the Romanian authorities but did not hear back. A 2022 report by the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment found several prison cells with cockroaches and mold and bed bug-infested mattresses in four different prisons.
A Romanian judge ordered Tate and his brother Tristan to remain in Romanian custody until February 27. Their arrests are related to an ongoing investigation into rape and human trafficking. Prosecutors allege the brothers exploited the women and forced them to create pornographic material.
Tate denied the allegations and tweeted updates. He also said that he welcomes emails from fans.
