According to a study conducted by LinkedIn and OKX on the development of organizations and talent in the global blockchain industry, France is one of the three leading countries in the world recruiting in this industry. It attracts a lot of talent from a rapidly growing ecosystem and the active support of the French government.
Last year, Crypto.com announced its expansion into France. Binance deepened its ties with the French region through a speech by its CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ), in which he referred to Paris as the European financial capital of digital assets. During his introductory speech at the event organized by Binance at the Palais des Congrès, Minister Jean-Noël Barrot emphasized the importance of the role played by the French government in future MICA regulation. For these reasons, Binance plans to make Paris its European hub, recruiting hundreds of French talents and thus supporting the development of Web3 and blockchain.
In the past, France has openly announced its support for blockchain and digital currencies. Since 2016, it has been one of the pioneering countries to adopt blockchain in Europe and globally. France’s latest decisions, such as identification requirements and calls for stronger regulation of digital assets, show that the country is willing to distance itself from other major jurisdictions more nimbly than neighboring countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom or Italy.
During his introductory speech at an event organized by Binance at the Palais des Congrès in Paris in 2022, Minister Barrot highlighted the importance of the role played by the French government regarding future MiCA regulations.
He later added, “The transition from Web2 to Web3 will open many opportunities for partnership, collaboration and creativity with government to support the development of a robust Web3 ecosystem.”
Paris Blockchain Week recently announced the presence of Minister Barrot at the event for this 2023 edition, where he will deliver a speech.
